They upgraded the CA certificate store to the latest version, and upgraded many core system packages to have the latest fixes, including CMake, Git, and LVM. They also fixed the homepage URLs on some packages.

Luis Ressel (aranea) fixed a great number of packages to use HTTPS for homepage and source URL links where possible. He also added packages for cmus and picocom.

General discussion

Some packages that used Bison were changed to use BYACC instead, lessening our base system dependency on GNU. abuild was also upgraded to 3.3.1, which brings a few improvements to how we build software.

KDE Applications were upgraded to 18.12.3.

After the GCC 8 upgrade, the system has now been tagged as “1.0-BETA3 exp”, for “experimental build”. We are growing ever-closer to the release of 1.0-BETA3.
